5-Year Strategic Plan

TASK

To create a five-year strategy for Nzen’man’ Child and Family Development Centre.

CHALLENGE

After a rough wildfire season and flooding situations in 2021, Nzen’man’s leadership needed to chart a game plan for the next five years. It needed a plan built on all the past efforts but also grounded in what was happening today and the unpredictable future scenarios shaped by the changing climate.

Nzen’man’, an Indigenous-led socio-purpose organization serving the children and families within the Nlaka’pamux Nation territory, needed help developing their 5-year strategy.

SOLUTION

Our team conducted multiple engagement sessions with the community leaders, Nzen’man’ leadership, management, and staff over a period of 6 months. These sessions gave us a glimpse into and an understanding of the challenges the organization was facing.

They also let us in on its objectives, priorities, dreams, and aspirations. Together, we created a framework for prioritizing initiatives and developed an implementation schedule outlining a 5-year plan of action to make Nzen’man’ a more resilient and vibrant community-based organization with 31 unique initiatives.

Our hands-on, collaborative approach allowed us to understand Nzen’man’s unique needs and create a customized solution that would bring their vision to life.

We believe that working closely with our clients, involving key stakeholders and community groups, and considering the local and regional circumstances are integral to delivering effective and sustainable solutions. As such, we made it a point to involve all parties from the first step to the last.

The project’s success is primarily attributed to this collaborative approach, with all involved parties drawing value from the engagement. Our commitment to building a meaningful relationship with Nzen’man’ is a testament to our approach and our passion for creating positive change in the communities we serve.
